5 Key Goals You Must Achieve As A Youth In Nigeria

As a Nigerian youth, you must be able to impact positively in the nation’s growth. In doing this, there is unlimited progress in the country’s development and standard of living.Today, I shall be discussing the 5 key things every youth must achieve as a legitimate citizen of Nigeria.

Without wasting much time, let us swing into action.

Education: Every youth is entitled to good quality education. Being educated entitles you to so many things, starting from good jobs to knowledge of your rights as a bona fide citizen of Nigeria. I know that you might be thinking what if there is no money to enroll in school? The world has gone beyond attending school before you can learn anything. Every day is a learning process, you can learn through the internet as it can be free, fast, efficient and well updated. There are websites that provide free online courses; you can enroll in one and obtain quality education. All it takes are time, willingness to learn and sufficient data bundle. Education is key and knowledge is power.

Hard work: Note that there is a difference between hard work and hard labour. So many people usually confuse the two though they can be inter-related. Hard work is putting a lot of time and energy in pursuing a particular goal while hard labour on the other hand, is work or labour that can be stressful and energy consuming. You can be doing hard labour but you are not hard working. For example, bricklaying can be very stressful but whereby the bricklayer is lazy and does not come to work on regular bases, he is not hard working. Every Nigerian youth should be hard working for hard work brings success. Anything good you do for a living, you should be diligent in doing it. Even if it is paying now, it will someday. Do not relent because as they say time waits for no man. It is better to achieve it in five years than to prolong the about ten years before achieving it due to impatience and procrastination.

Money: Money? O yes, money. As the popular song by Victor AD says
“If we no get money, wetin we gain”.
Let me tell you do not let anyone deceive you that money is not everything. Your purpose of being born apart from the fact that you are born to do the will of God and to multiply is to make money that will enable you take care of your parents and your entire family. Your life as a whole is centered on two things – God and money. I am not saying that you should engage in illegal affairs to make this money. No, all I am saying is make the kind of money that can enable at least start a family, take of every member of your family and yourself. It is said that
“With great respect, comes great responsibility”
What responsibilities do you have as a grown up that does not involve money? As I have said earlier be hard working and success will come knocking on your door. On this site, we shall be sharing business ideas, career tips and how to make money either online or offline. Money brings respect but remember money can be the root of evil so you should not abuse it as it can be intoxicating most times.

Political participation: Gone are the days when people shy away from politics. Political apathy I can say is the reason behind the ill nature of our nation politically; if only we had been fully active in the political affairs in Nigeria, we would have been able to settle some the pressing issues the country is facing politically. As youths, we should learn to embrace politics and fully participate in it. We should learn to say no to corruption, illegal brutalization by the armed forces and nepotism rather than this suffering and smiling escapade that we are involved in. instead of voicing out our mind we relent and wait for one day that a miracle will happen. As youths, we should take the bull by the horn and do not wait for one or two persons to fight for us.

Legacy: Nigerian youths should learn to ask themselves, what positive impact have I generated in the society? What goals have I achieved as a legit Nigerian youth? And what will posterity remember me for? If you can be able to answer this questions, then congratulations because you successfully done indeed a great favour for your country. Endeavour to live a righteous life and a wonderful footprint for the younger generation. You too can make a name for yourself and make your future generation proud of you.

With all these being said, you should never forget your Creator. Remember Him in whatsoever you engage yourself in and you shall never be put to shame.
